Marriott International to debut Fairfield by Marriott brand in Taiwan’s Tainan Science Park – advised by PKF hospitality group

Tainan/Taiwan, 10 September 2025 – The PKF hospitality group is proud to announce its advisory role in bringing the Fairfield by Marriott brand to Taiwan’s dynamic Tainan Science Park — home to some of the world’s leading high-tech companies, including TSMC and other global innovators.

Developer of the project, the Taiwan-based entity Sing Song Chien Limited, has entered into an agreement with Marriott International to develop the Fairfield by Marriott Tainan Science Park, marking the brand’s first presence in this key industrial hub.

The project will deliver a new-build, 4-star hotel with approximately 160 guestrooms, positioned as the first international branded hotel in the immediate area. Designed to serve both short-stay business travellers and long-stay guests, the property aims to set new standards for warmth, comfort and connectivity in the region.

The Fairfield by Marriott Tainan Science Park is strategically located to cater to the growing influx of domestic and international professionals working in the park’s advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, and technology sectors. By being a first-mover in tainan, the new Fairfield by Marriott hotel will benefit from strong brand recognition and guest loyalty in an underserved market.

Opening is currently scheduled for 2029, marking a significant milestone in the development of the Tainan Science Park hospitality landscape.

“We are happy to have supported this exciting project, which combines strong market fundamentals with the trusted quality of a global brand,” said Stefan Catic, Head of Operator Search at PKF hospitality group. “This hotel will meet a clear market need and create a premium accommodation offering for the business community in Tainan.” Robin Wattinger, Head of Asia at PKF hospitality group, adds: “We are delighted this comprehensive operator selection process has yielded a strong result for the key stakeholders involved - creating a win-win for both owner and operator. Our job as advisors is to ensure the alignment between both parties are well represented and balanced - and we are glad this was the case here.“

Richard Boyer, Regional Vice President, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Hainan, Marriott International: “We are thrilled to partner with Sing Song Chien to introduce Fairfield by Marriott's signature ‘Beauty of Simplicity’ to Tainan. This collaboration will breathe new life into the city's travel and hospitality landscape. We look forward to the opening of the hotel, offering guests an at-ease and comfortable stay experience when they visit Tainan - a destination that blends rich historical heritage with modern vitality."

Sylvia Hsu, CEO of Sing Song Chien: “We are excited to bring the first international hotel to the Tainan Science Park area together with Marriott International. With Fairfield by Marriott, our vision is to create more than just a place to stay — we want it to feel like a welcoming home for business travelers and visiting professionals. We see this as an important step forward for the community, and we look forward to opening our doors and supporting the continued growth of the Science Park.”
